Let me give you a simple concept.
A person leading a group of people or organisation wears two hats or roles. Both need to be done well.
Hat 1 worn well will produce compliance within people. Compliance is necessary and may get you average or even good results. Unfortunately people may also comply because you're the boss and have the authority.
Hat 2 worn well will produce commitment within people. Commitment is the gold, it touches the heart. People commit, own, invest. You will get great and amazing results.
You'll always have compliance to some degree but how much commitment do you really have?
